head of the younger brothers
The Inagawa-kai is one of Japan's largest and most influential yakuza clans, headquartered in Tokyo. Founded in 1949 by Kakuji Inagawa, it became prominent in post-war Japan, particularly in the Kanto region. The clan is known for its hierarchical structure, with strong ties to traditional Japanese businesses and politics. With thousands of members, it remains a key player in Japan's underworld, maintaining both domestic and international connections. Kimura is a loan shark, a collector of debts for the Inagawa syndicate. He is a mid level ranked member, shatei-gashira (舎弟頭). This rank translates to "head of the younger brothers." The shatei-gashira oversees the activities of the shatei and kobun, ensuring they perform their duties, including minor debt collection of regular citizens. Kimura takes care of the matter himself when the borrowers are more important figures, business owners and when the amount of borrowed money is big.
TALES
chapter one : a hound cutting fingers.
Kimura Taketa is known as "The Hound", a loan shark and loan collector for the Inagawa-kai syndicate. His methods are brutal but effective; those who failed to repay their debts often found themselves missing a finger, a hand, or more. Many say he takes pleasure in making people around him suffer, that his grin is wide when he enters your home. However, Taketa’s path to becoming the Hound was one marked by tragedy and necessity rather than choice. As a child, he grew up in fosters being orphaned at a very young age. His older sister fought to win her case and to take him back and raise him when she turned 18 and him, was 8. She was his whole family, carrying the role of a mother at such a young age, she was his entire family. The young girl was struggling however, to make sure to get the money to feed the both of them and all together, survive. She ended in dirty deals, contacting loansharks and borrowing a lot of money to be able to offer more to her little brother without measuring the danger of such decision. The loansharks were unforgiving and the day they came to collect was the day Taketa’s world got tainted with blood and rage. He was half knocked unconscious while the men took advantage of his sister as "payement" . Months passed and his sister fell into a depression so deep, she killed herself. Taketa found himself forced to go back to foster with the pain of another loss. It was his turn then, to be haunted by the screams of her sisters, by the sound of these men never stopping even if she begged them to stop. He grew up, disturbed and violent, filled with rage. It never ends well for boys like him, when they reach the age they have to take care of themselves. He joins the Inagawa-kai as all he knows is violence, he hits and hits and kill to get this rage out of his system but it's never enough - he's good at it, he ends up making a living out of it. To earn his place in the syndicate, he had to do what has been done to his family : collect debts by any means necessary. Years passed, and Taketa’s reputation grew. His face became synonymous with fear among debtors. He is ruthless, emotionless, psychotic. Yet beneath his ruthless exterior lay a man tormented by the ghosts of his past. Every finger he severed, every neck he slices, every debt he collects, was a step towards an uncertain revenge he himself wasn't sure would fix what could not be fixed.

peach of the angel dust
Momoko works at the angel dust as a hostess. She is Kimura's girl meaning, the girl Kimura requests all the time. Kimura loves spending his evenings at the hostess clubs with his brothers from the clan, every man from the syndicate has his own girl there. Together, they're out of control but they're fun. Kimura likes that about her, she's a little airhead, sexy and fun, he can let go of his daily trouble and shit when they're flirting on that couch at the bar. They play mind games on the other girls too, all the ones who thirst to have Kimura - Momoko is jealous but it's just a game right? Fights often break at Angel Dust and in this mess, Momoko loves waching him fight he fights even better when she's there.
the yakuza and the gisaeng
How many times has she seen him covered in blood? They made a pact. A pact Kimura never suspected to make with anybody. At first it was for mutual help, he can help her get a better life and she can help him get his revenge. But then loyalty is born between them, and this need and will to protect the other. He doesn't want her to get hurt and she doesn't want him to get hurt either. Perhaps it was, they never had that before? Never? It turns into an obsession to be a dog for the other, I would bite for you, I would kill for you. He has, he killed for her twice and he would do it again. it's risky for him isn't it? For him to justify this violence, these bathes of blood they swim in as something noble, out of protection. All this loyalty he could never give to anybody else, is it going to suffocate them?
You owe me
Misaki family has a debt. They owe a lot of money to the Inagawa Clan. Kimura remembers her, they grew up in the same poor area in tokyo decades ago, but she doesn't remember him, she was too young. As Misaki cannot pay this debt, she has no choice but to work at the Sakura Kiss as a hostess to pay it back. She gets clients, she gives the money to Kimura. There is something toxic in the situation that makes Kimura acts like he owns Misaki, which makes her hate and resent him. Their relationship is complicated, challenging Kimura as he, himself, realizes treating her the way he does is morally fucked up. However, his way of making sure she's safe in this new life of hers, is to never leave her side.
you can't fix him
Minseo and Kimura met at the bar. Him, with his mates from his syndicate, and her with her friends. Their words are different, opposite even. A yakuza and a 40 years old mother of 4. At first, he just thought he would have a small fun, that they would fuck in the bathroom and call it a night but it didn't go like that. They met after that night, and they talked. Kimura isn't the type to have much conversations with girls he met at the bar but she isn't like any of them. She is educated, she is smart, she is fun. It gets complicated however, as her ex husband owes money to Kimura's syndicate and seems to exploit Minseo for his debts. Kimura wishes he could just walk away from this mess but he can't, maybe he cares.
sex coke and cutting fingers
Sasha is one of the many prostitutes Kimura and his men spend time with at the club. She is fun and fucked up, he loves having her by his side during those nights when they just drink and snort and party. But here is the thing, Sasha made an offer : they can have sex without him ever having to pay IF .. he lets her watch him when he collect his debts and cut the fingers of the customers who don't have the money. The offer is surprising as it's not coming from her and well, Kimura likes that.
that night at hanahaki
Hiro and Kimura end up knowing each other through their clans. Hiro is in the Yamazaki clan, which is an ally to the Inagawa clan (Kimura's clan). They get closer on the day they find themselves trapped in a shitty situation at the Hanahaki Bar, a place owned by an enemy. They are embushed and just the two of them, well : they're about to die. Hiro is the brains of the duo and Kimura, is the fists. Together they manage to get out of that situation before calling backup from their clans. They run out of there, laughing and cursing out of relief. Kimura respects Hiro for his intellect a lot, he wonders why a guy like Hiro is wasting his life awat in yakuza. Well, they are good friends now.
you hate it there?
Yuka and Kimura met when they were in their early 20s. Both freshly joining their clans. Indeed, the clan Kimura is part of is has an alliance with the Yamazaki clan, the clan Yuka is part of. They bond, they chat. In Kimura's books, Yuka is cool. They often talk about their lives and what Yakuza has made of their lives. Well, Yuka talks more than Kimura who's usually more silent, and he finds himself giving her ideas to make it a little bit better. Yuka has recently been in charge of operations in Korea as her clan is expending and she hates it. Kimura could sense she does, his tips for her to get sent back to Tokyo are many.

he's a leader
head of the yamazaki clan
The Yamazaki Clan, with 3500 members is the second most powerful yakuza organization in Japan, is infamous for its brutal and ruthless methods. Founded in the 1960s by Yamazaki Shigeru, the clan swiftly ascended the ranks of organized crime through activities such as drug trafficking, extortion, and targeted assassinations. Yamazaki Tetsuro, who led the clan until his death in 2017, expanded its reach across Japan, establishing it as a formidable force. Their headquarters are both in Tokyo and Yokohama. Today, the clan is led by the grandson, Yamazaki Daisuke, also known as Dai, an eccentric and dangerously unstable leader who views his criminal empire as a game fueled by a deep-seated god complex. Despite his unpredictable nature, Dai possesses a remarkable talent for business, ensuring the clan's continued success and growth. The Yamazaki Clan controls a significant portion of Tokyo's Kabukicho district, one they share with the clans they are allies with, dominating the area's nightlife through a network of hostess bars that serve as fronts for money laundering, extortion, and drug trafficking. Recently, the clan has expanded its operations internationally, forging alliances with South Korean kangpaes and establishing their club franchise, Octogon, in the heart of Seoul.
TALES
chapter one : to carry a legacy.
Yamazaki Daisuke is the heir of the yakuza familiy, the Yamazaki clan. His entire life he has been raised for the role, a prince, a king, an heir. Dai grew close to his father, Tetsuro : he was his model. Even though in Dai's eyes Tetsuro was some sort of God, to everyone else he was a maniac : the type that kills for pleasure and glory, the type who made a lot of enemies. Dai barely reached seventeen when Tetsuro is murdered. Even though Dai has been prepared his entire life for death, the world he has built around the glory of his father is shattered. It is his turn to be a leader. Many questionned his ability to take care of the entire business of the clan, as the boy is exactly like his father : eccentric, unstable, cruel and too young for the task. He has no choice but to prove his value which he does through a strong sense of business and leadership : he was born for this. However, it's not enough. On his uncle side, a small amount is plotting behind his back to overtake the clan : a coup d'état. Dai understands that this coup d'état was planned before he even sat on the throne, he understands the murder of his father was the beginning of it all. Someone in the clan murdered Tetsuro. It drives Dai in a deep rage laced with paranoia : the traitors must die. The sceme ends in the infamous Yamazaki clan massacre in 2017 : the ones Dai piànned as traitors, they all ended up in a blood bath, dismembered by, the rumors say, Dai himself. The scene of horror of the members hanged in a slaughter house like pigs for Dai's own enjoyment gave him his nickname on the scene, " The Butcher". The fate of any enemy who crosses paths with him ends in the slaughter house. Now feared for his cruesome violence, he makes it clear trust is necessary for the clan to keep on prospering. The clan indeed prospers a lot. The Yamazaki clan has always been known to control many crappy hostess bars in Kabukicho and other business involving drug dealing, money laundering and extorsion but in 2020, the Yamazaki clan opens their own club franchise : Octogon. One that grows and ends up being one Dai exports in Korea and soon, in China too. Of course the Octogon club is only a facade for the clan to create relationships with the korean kangpaes and the chinese kangpins for expending and for the authorities to, in exchange of a few favors, close an eye on what goes on behind the club's doors.

Dai has his eyes on Akina then, something his brother seems to have*. Is Akina truly here with will or is it all pretending? She has a debt to pay, due to her her father being a former associate to the Yamazakis, a large sum of money was never given - money she for now does not have. kittens and diamonds
Kitty works at the Octogon as an exotic dancer. If not part of Dai's clan, he is known to be a member of Black Fang, a gang affiliated to the clan. Like many, Kitty's intention was to get Dai's attention, especially with his moves, the way he dances and manages to catch the club clients eye. It does work on Dai, attracted by Kitty's determination that never withers, holding an eye contact that showed Kitty would do anything for the power being by Dai's side or in Dai's sheets would give him there, at the club. Their relationship remains boss and dancer, with occasional sex, mixed with conversations, too. Dai, curious to know how far Kitty would go to get what he needs and how deep he's willing to let Dai keep on possessing his time, mind, body to play with.
from one leader to another
Taiyang is the leader of Black Fang, a rising and powerful gang in Seoul that is now affiliated with Dai and his clan. The two leaders sharing territories in the underground scene do get along, sometimes gather around a table of fresh steaks and sake as it is Dai's invitation to discuss some business. If Taiyang appears as dashing and elegant, Dai is his opposite with his display of power and unstability in his untied kimonos and showing tattoos and scar. They are still both known not to be so tender, cruel even, with their enemies. They become men of reason however when one seem to walk on the other's side of the city a little too freely : they wouuldn't want to start a war now, do they?

work & career
In 2015, Sen is spotted as a photographer online, for his fresh and daring statements in his art and contacted to work for more serious projects, notably in the fashion industry. He accepts, however is soon as disgusted and fascinated by what he finds there : the uglyness behind the beauty, which encourages him to stay and make a name for himself. His art keeps on twisting then, showcasing his new obsession for manipulative deceiving beauty. He detaches himself from the mainstream from times to times to keep on pushing his art furthur and furthur into his own darker fantasies, now working mainly for edgier, more independent magazines.
he's a murder scene cleaner
on the underground scene
Sen owns a burner phone he only turns on at night. He works as an underground murder scene cleaner. He is called either by gangs, the mafia, clubs or amateurs - he only answers to scenes that speaks to him. It is not for the money the man took the job but for his own art : twisted it is. He insists on working alone, many - who starts to know him on the underground scene - believe it is due to how antisocial he is, truth is, despite leaving a crime scene absolutely spotless, he take his camera with him in order to capture the beauty of the untold, of these secrets, of the blood spilled in silence.
TALES
Sen is a storyless man, born in the country side of japan. Silent, antisocial is the way he has always been, raised in a household of 5 brothers and sisters, often forgotten in the mix. Sen appreciates being under the radar however, not too seen, not to spoken of, not to spoken to. He usually likes to surround himself with only one to two people that he can appear quite attached and clingy to yet, that is it. Online, he finds solace, behind pseudonyms and aliases, on forums he spends hours talking and exchanging about the darkest thoughts and urges the man has. He makes many friends there, surprisingly, some he meets, some he never meets. He has a passion for art, photography and videography more specifically that he learns all by himself. After graduating, he works at the groceries store in his hometown, his family not able to pay for college. He is making little money : with his savings he buys himself a camera and often wonders, alone, to take pictures at dawn, in the sunset, of peculiar scenes and elements he sees. His photography is dark yet seizing, intriguing, seeming to hold many secrets, from a mind prone to depression and dark places. He surprisingly gains notoriety online, which gets him contacted for serious photography projects at the age of 22. Packing his bags and his camera, he leaves his hometown and family home to take the train to Tokyo, move there. For a few years he lives as a roommate to one of his friends he met online. Sen, awkward and silent and quite frankly not so fashionable, ends up in fashion projects, with actual models. Is it both exciting and disgusting to him as he discovers an entire new world : the world of lies, deceiving beauty, manipulative marketing through this art. He is fascinated with it. With these models being the representation of everything he despises yet, being able to sublime it. He is diligent, respectful, his work is appreciated and recommanded to more and more big names in fashion. Sen's mind starts to spiral however as he imagines his models caught in his frame, forever, hoping none would move from this state he captures them in. Soon, he moves to more independent, edgier magazines that seem to ressemble him more. He confides in his roommate, about his dreams, about his fantasies. The roommate understands : they are cut out of the same cloth, after talking for years about these disturbing thoughts they keep inside and the roommate gives him a number, the number of a club where many ugly things seem to happen. You could clean up for them, if you want to see shit you've never seen before. Learning the ropes of this new job : a murder scene cleaner, Sen finds solace in it. It's silent, it's beautiful. Sen takes his camera out after a few scenes, snapping pictures of what was left behind. Sometimes just a clean death with a bullet in one head, sometimes a gigantic mess of revenge and unsanity. He captures it all, like a secret.

He pushes her to do anything she wants of him, to hurt him, harm him, make him bleed. He loves to watch what he becomes when she's like that, cruel and untamed. He makes a wall of these pictures, it is art, he thinks. She breaks them all, she screams, she yells, she's out of her mind witnessing it all. Junji is a journalist for The Japan Times, initially despises his job, covering mundane stories that leave him unfulfilled. Desperate for recognition, he creates the persona of the "Ikebukuro Killer," a fictional criminal whose crimes he secretly commits. As he reports on the murders, Junji gains fame for his brilliant coverage and close work with the police. However, his success is tainted by the horrifying truth: the victims are real, and the killer he’s chasing is himself.
TALES
chapter one : playing by the rules
Junji despises his day job. Like many of the bright students who excelled academically, he attended one of Tokyo's top universities and landed the role he’d always dreamed of: a journalist at The Japan Times. But the reality is far from what he envisioned. Instead of diving into hard-hitting investigations and unraveling complex mysteries, he’s trapped in the soul-crushing monotony of procedural journalism. The newspaper is obsessed with rules and protocol, suffocating any spark of creativity or ambition. Junji craves the thrill of chasing down leads, collaborating with the police, and exposing the gritty Japan’s crime scene. But his superiors are relentless in keeping him on a short leash, threatening to fire him if he steps out of line. Yet, Junji’s obsession is uncontrollable. He’s driven by an insatiable need to uncover the truth, even if it means skirting the edge of legality. He constantly hounds the police, crashes crime scenes, and deploys questionable methods just to snag the smallest lead. But no matter how hard he pushes, the big stories—the ones that matter—are always out of reach, reserved for the senior journalists. Junji is stuck writing about petty criminals and trivial cases, like panty thieves, a humiliating assignment for someone of his intellect and ambition. It’s a daily reminder that despite his talent, he’s still caged.
chapter one : the ikebukuro monster.
Junji’s obsession slowly turns into something darker. Frustrated by the endless stream of mundane assignments and his superiors’ refusal to let him cover the real stories, he makes up a plan—one that will finally give him the career he wants. It starts small. A few carefully crafted notes, planted in inconspicuous places. He writes them in a different hand, signs them with a cryptic symbol, and makes sure they hint at something sinister. But the police don’t take the bait—at least, not at first. So, Junji escalates. He creates a persona—a criminal mastermind that only he knows exists. This mysterious figure begins to take shape in his mind, a dark reflection of himself. Then comes the next step. Junji chooses his victim carefully, someone whose disappearance will make headlines but won’t immediately attract too much attention. He kidnaps them with meticulous precision, leaving no trace that could link back to him. He’s methodical, almost detached, as he follows through with his plan. The real thrill comes afterward—when he sends the first real letter to the police, describing the crime in chilling detail and signing it with the same symbol. The city is thrown into a panic, and The Japan Times is the first to break the story. Junji positions himself to cover it, just as he intended. He manages to win against his seniors because well, he knows more. Finally, he’s in the spotlight, working closely with the police as the only journalist with direct access to the criminal’s mind—because he is the criminal. He’s always a step ahead, able to predict the next move because he’s the one making them. But as the game unfolds, Junji realizes the danger he’s placed himself in. The thrill of control and the rush of being at the center of the story are intoxicating, but the stakes are rising. The police are closing in, and the more they investigate, the more likely it becomes that they’ll uncover the truth. Junji has to be careful. One slip, one mistake, and the entire house of cards he’s built could come crashing down. His first victim rots in a basement for days, weeks and at some point he has no choice but to kill the man. It changes something within him, it makes Junji a killer now. Something inside his head snaps. Yet, the allure of the glory he’s always wanted, the power of being both the hunter and the hunted, is too great to resist. He’s trapped in a web of his own making, where every move he makes to secure his legacy could be the one that ultimately destroys him. The line between Junji the journalist and Junji, the Ikebukuro killer blurs further with each passing day, and soon, even he isn’t sure which side he’s really on.
